The PANDITO Ultra-light Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) from Sol Solution is a simple to use layer by layer compaction control device. The operator who has just compacted a layer of material immediately tests the compaction quality using the PANDITO.

The PANDITO DCP is suited for layers up to a maximum of 50 cm thickness, the typical maximum compaction depth able to be compacted with classical compactors. It measures the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) index. The PANDITO is able to control all types of soils (gravels, crushed, recycled…) up to 50 mm grain size.

This control test can be done by onsite field staff: the PANDITO DCP is extremely simple to use and interpret. Operators are no longer waiting for the final test by a normalized cone penetrometer (PANDA, GRIZZLY,…) or other normalised technique (nuclear densitometer etc) to identify compaction issues and, if identified, start the compacted material again.
